GolfMetro Golf Links is just over five minutes away in Oakland. South of Oakland International Airport, this course is a Johnny Miller and Fred Bliss design that incorporates wide open fairways. There are also 37 stalls at the all grass driving ranges. Prices start at $5 for a small bucket. Non-resident rates for 18 holes playing Monday – Thursday is $40, $50 on Fridays, and $62 on weekends. Lake Chabot Golf Course is known for its fantastic views and well-kept greens. Located in Oakland Hills, this course is less than 30 minutes away and offers 18 holes on its public golf course. On-site you’ll also find a pro shop, driving range and putting green, and The Chabot Café. Non-resident rates are $31 on Mondays – Thursdays, and $41 on weekends and holidays. The Monarch Bay Golf Club is located adjacent to The Marina Inn. The course is famously known as the home of Tony Lema and was redesigned by John Harbottle and is now managed by the American Golf Corporation. The club also features a double deck driving range with heaters, windscreens and a music system. The Wedges Bar & Grill offers breakfast, lunch, a full bar and banquet facilities. Marina Activities
The location of The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay offers unfettered access to the San Leandro Marina. It offers 462 berths, a boat launch ramp, and two yacht clubs, and is part of the San Leandro Shoreline Recreation Area.
There are municipal marina facilities that include a fuel dock offering diesel and unleaded gasoline and operating from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There is also a boat launch ramp with a daily rate of $10.
Berthing rates are calculated based on the berth and are generally a monthly rental. Transient boating fees are $20 per night for a berth of 59 feet or less, and $40 for 60 feet and up. Electricity is available at all berths.
Boating, Sailing, and Kayaking
Many visitors bring their own boats to the marina but there are group boating trips offered through the East Bay Regional Park District as well as kayaking and sailing adventures. A popular activity is the kayaking at sunset paddle tour that leaves the shoreline at 6 p.m.
Independent kayakers also frequent the area, using the staging area next to the launch ramp for put-in.

Marina Park encompasses 30 acres and has two playgrounds, picnic and barbeque areas, and a seven-mile trail along the San Francisco Bay that caters to walkers and bikers alike. The Marina Park is just a short walk from The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay.

You’re always guaranteed a good game when you see this team play. With consecutive playoff appearances in recent years, the quality of this team makes it worth the trip. The 49ers play at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara a 40-minute drive from our San Leandro hotel.
San Jose Sharks
Recent winners of six division championships and playing at the SAP Center in San Jose, The Sharks prove why hockey games are so much fun in-person. The arena is a 40-minute drive from The Marina Inn.
San Jose Earthquakes
With the gaining popularity of the MLS, don’t pass up a chance to see a game, particularly with these two-time champions. Regular season play is March through October. Games are at Avaya Stadium in San Jose 40 minutes from our hotel.

San Leandro Parks
San Leandro’s Department of Recreation and Human Services provides and maintains 23 parks and facilities in the area. Park season is from April 1 to October 31 with picnic shelters and areas available for rent. Our local parks offer a variety of outdoor recreation and sport opportunities. Many of our city parks are within a 10-minute drive from our front door or are easy to bike to using our complimentary bicycles.

About 2.5 miles from The Marina Inn on San Francisco Bay is Bonaire Park, at the corner of Juniper and Sagewood streets. This 5-acre park includes picnic areas, restrooms, and a play area for children.
Chabot Park
This 10-acre park is located at Estudillo Avenue and Sylvan Circle and includes barbeque pits, large and small picnic areas, a volleyball court, restrooms, and a play area.
Cherry Grove Park
Just over two miles from our hotel is the neighborhood Cherry Grove Park. At four acres, this park, located along Leonard Drive at Williams Street, has picnic areas, tennis courts, 10 barbecue pits, play areas, and restrooms.
Floresta Park
Floresta Park is located at 3750 Monterey Boulevard, about 3 miles from The Marina Inn. This park offers picnic and play areas.
Halcyon Park
At almost five acres, Halcyon Park, at 1245 147th Avenue, offers volleyball courts and a children’s play area. The park is about 4 miles from our hotel.
Heath Park Tennis Courts
This park, at 1220 143rd Avenue at Rose Drive, is designed for tennis enthusiasts with tennis courts and an adjacent parking lot.
Marina Park
Probably the most popular park in San Leandro, Marina Park is a 30-acre park along the San Leandro shoreline and is about a five-minute walk from our hotel. You’ll find picnic areas, barbecue grills, a playground, and a mile-long trail. The bike paths are the perfect spot to take our complimentary bicycles.
McCartney Park
A small one-acre park with two backstops for baseball or softball. The park, located at Breed Avenue at Sunnyside Drive, is on a first-come, first-serve basis but has a tot lot that is shared with a local school for recess.
Memorial Park
About four miles from the San Leandro shoreline, is Memorial Park, at the intersection of Bancroft and Callan avenues, and is one of the city’s oldest parks. Dedicated in 1938, this park offers picnic areas and two play areas for the little ones. On the north side of the park, you’ll find the flowing San Leandro Creek.
